Mesa County Commissioners appointed three new members to the Board of Public Health in April: Jeannine Frey, Joe Giauque, and Dr. Alexandra Hulst.

 

Jeannine Frey will serve on the board through 4/30/2028. She received her Masters in Business in Administration from Cal Poly State University. Frey is a registered nurse with 15 years experience as a consultant in the healthcare industry. She is also a volunteer nurse with the Rocky Mountain Medical Reserve Corps of Colorado. “I am looking forward to being a contributing member of the Mesa County Board of Public Health, embracing the agency’s mission, vision, and core values in order to serve the community health needs of Mesa County,” said Frey.

 

Joe Giauque’s term on the board ends 4/30/2028. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M. He has built his career in the home healthcare industry, and is currently the owner and administrator of Cimarron Home Care. He was also an adjunct professor at Colorado Mesa University’s Davis School of Business.  Giauque is a current member of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Home Care Advisory Committee. “I love living on the Western Slope and am motivated to help make this area an even better place to live,” said Giauque.

 

Dr. Alexandra Hulst will serve on the board through 4/30/2027. She currently works as the Practice Manager for Family Health West Primary Care in Fruita. With a specialization in integrated behavioral health in healthcare settings, she has cared for patients and families in primary and specialty care settings, trained behavioral health students and interns, and led interdisciplinary teams in clinical and operational development. “I am honored to join the board for Mesa County Public Health. I am committed to listening well and putting my training in systems thinking to good use,” said Dr. Hulst.

"Their expertise, leadership, and passion for improving community health will be invaluable as we move forward. I’m excited to work alongside them to build an even stronger, healthier Mesa County."

 

The Board of Public Health is a seven member volunteer board that governs Mesa County Public Health. The Mesa County Board of County Commissioners are responsible for appointing these board members.
